Controversial online news platform, SaharaReporters has questioned the silence of the highly vocal People's Democratic Party, PDP senator representing Bayelsa, Ben Murray Bruce over his silence on the new senate bill allegedly gagging the social media.

A bill seeking a two-year jail term for any person who makes allegation or publishes any false statement or petition in the newspaper, radio or medium of whatever description against another person, institutions of government or any public office holder, passed second reading in the Senate, yesterday, according to the Vanguard.
This prompted SaharaReporters to quiz the SilverBird television boss, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce over his silence via his Twitter page.
The conversation howevr ended insultive.
It should be noted that the senate has
debunked the viral news of the limitation of the freedom of expression via the social media as the bill was misinterpreted by the press.
