Nigerians expect sanity to return to the country in a few days time, as oil marketers have called off their strike; but the prestigious University of Ibadan had already closed down for 2 weeks before the new development.
Although the Federal Government has ordered Oil Marketers to start nationwide distribution of fuel, it was too late for the students of Uiversity of Ibadan.
The management of the tertiary institution had already on Monday asked its students to vacate the premises immediately, pending when the shortage of water and electricity would be addressed.
The directive was issued to students following an advice given by the Committee of Provosts and Deans to the university’s management.
The Director of Communication of the institution, Mr Muhammed Oladejo ,who confirmed the development, said the management only asked the students to proceed on a two-week mid-semester break.
