The fight between Minister of State, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi has been settled.
Buni settles quarrel between Amaech and Sylva
Governor Mai Mala Buni led Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee (CENCPC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) on Monday saw Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi and his counterpart Minister of State, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva agree to work together to reposition the party in the South-South geo-political zone of the country following years of hostility.
The comes after the reconciliatory committee brought the two former governors of Rivers and Bayesla States together at a closed door meeting at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to TheNation, The Minister of Transport who earlier arrived at the party Secretariat around 1:15 pm left after few minutes only to return with the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee to join the Minister of State for Petroleum at about 2pm for the closed door meeting that last almost an hour.
The political differences between the two South-South leaders in recent past have had a toll on the party’s fortune in the region.
Speaking with newsmen after the closed door meeting, Ameachi who was accompanied by the former governor Sylva, said: “We have agreed that both of us will work together.”
