Governor Bello Matawalle
Due to the high insecurity in the country, Governor Bello Matawalle has ordered security agencies to demolish the houses of informants and those supplying arms to bandits in the state.
The order which is to be acted on with immediate effect, was given in a press release signed by Yusuf Idris, the Director-General on Media to the governor.
Matawalle gave the order on Tuesday April 27 when he received Sokoto state governor, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal along with his Council members who came to commiserate with the government and people over the recent bandit’s attack in some parts of the state.
Punitive measures to be taken against those heightening insecurity in the state include demolition of any house where informants and weapons suppliers stay. People who are aiding banditry activities in the state are also to be arrested with immediate effect.
The Governor said the decision became necessary in order to fully address the resurgence of armed banditry activities in some parts of the state which is being aided by the people who are living mostly in the cities and providing information to the bandits in the bushes.
