His lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor has revealed that the trial of the IPOB leader will continue on July 26th, 2021 as scheduled even though judges are on break.
Ejiofor revealed this in a tweet titled: “Update on F.R.N. Vs Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”
He tweeted: “We have just received confirmation from the Federal High Court Abuja, that the Hearing on Our Client’s case above referred will still go on as earlier scheduled on Monday next week being the 26th Day of July 2021.
“Remember Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the entire Legal team in your prayers. Thank you all and remain blessed.@ EjioforBar”
Kanu was rearrested a few weeks ago in an African country believed to be Kenya.
Following his rearrest, Kanu was repatriated to Nigeria to continue his trial.
The IPOB leader is standing trial before the Justice Binta Nyako-led Abuja Federal High Court for charges bordering on treason.
However, upon his repatriation to Nigeria, the IPOB leader was brought before Justice Nyako who remanded him in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, while adjourning his matter.
