Risikat Ajoke Adegeye
King Sunny Ade's wife, Hon (Mrs) Risikat Ajoke Adegeye has been laid to rest amid tears by her family members in Lagos.
Adegeye, a former lawmaker at the Lagos House of Assembly, died last week, a few hours to her husband’s 75th birthday.
The lying-in-state and interment took place on Wednesday at Ebony Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos amidst tears from family members and sympathisers.
Many sympathisers had on Tuesday gathered at the service of songs held in her honour in Ikeja, Lagos.
Late Risikat is survived by her grieving husband and son, George Folarin.
Sunny Ade described his wife as a heroine and an achiever, while the deceased’s son, Folarin George, expressed sadness over her demise.
She represented Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1 at the Lagos Assembly from 2011-2015.
She was also a one-time chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin LGA.
According to the deceased son, Risikat’s burial was planned early based on the deceased’s instruction.
The celebration of life would take place on December 19.
