According to a report by Daily Trust, Engineer Aminu Nuhu, a cousin of the late Magjin Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Hassan Danbaba, has given details about the death of a grandchild of the late Premier of the defunct Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardaunan Sokoto.

Nuhu while speaking to Daily Trust about the death of his relative said that the deceased collapsed and died this morning at his Kaduna’s residence at 50.

The bereaved further described Danbaba as a replica of his maternal grandfather, the late Premier of the defunct Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardaunan Sokoto.

In an emotion-laden voice, he said, “The late Magjin Garin collapsed and died this morning at his Kaduna’s residence. Magjin Garin, like his grandfather, was a philanthropist and religious person who treated anybody he came across as his brother. He is truly a replica of the Sardaunan. Honestly, we lost a pillar.

“He died at 50, leaving behind his three wives and six children. His remains will be brought to Sokoto for burial at his family designated burial ground at Binanchi in the state’s metropolis.”

The deceased was before his death the Board chairman of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority. He was also a senior counsellor at the Sultanate Council, Sokoto.

His death came almost a year after the death of his mother who was the daughter of the late Premier.
