President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended by Abuja-based human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju over the handling of disgraced cop, DCP Abba Kyari's cocaine trafficking case.
Adeyanju said Buhari should be commended for not interfering with the ongoing case of Kyari.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Adeyanju wrote: “I commend President Buhari and his government for not interfering with this Abba Kyari cocaine trafficking issue.”
Kyari, a former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, has found himself in fresh trouble with law enforcement agency.
This time, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has indicted him of selling drugs.
The NDLEA had declared him wanted after evidence linked him to a drug cartel operating along the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria route.
After declaring him wanted, the agency released video evidence of Kyari attempting to bribe an NDLEA operative.
