The arrested suspects
Various suspects have been apprehended by Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command for various crimes across the state.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement on Thursday, March 31, said the suspects were arrested for sodomy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, theft, r*pe, possession of illegal firearms, among others.
The PPRO said that one Yahaya Musa, 30, sodomised a 12-year-old boy twice after deceiving and luring him into his barbing shop.
"On 20/03/2022 at about 0900hrs one Abdullahi Kani of Unguwar Sarkin Hausawa Miya village Ganjuwa LGA, Bauchi State reported at Ganjuwa Divisional Headquarters that on 19/03/2022 at about 2130hrs one Yahaya Musa aged 30yrs of same address lured Abdulkadir (not real name) aged 12yrs of same address into his barbing shop deceitfully and forcefully had An*l s3xual intercourse with the victim twice," he stated.
"During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime. Investigation is ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation,"
In efforts to curb s3xual and gender based violence, operatives of the command arrested Jonathan Manasseh who abducted and r*ped a 17-year-old girl.
"On 20/03/2022 at about 1300hrs one Liatu M. Gaius of Bayara Bauchi State, reported at E’ Division Yelwa that on 19/03/2022 at about 2300hrs one Jonathan Manasseh aged 20yrs of Yelwan Kagadama Bauchi State, abducted her daughter Christiana (not real name) aged 17yrs to his room at yelwan kagadama and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent," Wakil state.
''During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. Investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation," he added.
In another development, on 02/01/2022 at about 2358hrs a distress call received at Warji Divisional Headquarters that on the same date at about 2300hrs, one Ya’u Mohammed of Katangar Warji, Warji LGA Bauchi State and one Shua’ibu Idris of the same address were fighting where the said Ya’u Mohammed hit the latter one Shua’ibu Idris with a stick on his neck as a result he sustained serious injuries.
The victim identified as Shua’ibu Idris was rushed to General Hospital Warji where he was certified dead by a medical doctor. The suspect was arrested and investigation commenced, where he voluntarily confessed to the crime.
Investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
Police operatives also arrested a suspect in possession of a locally made revolver pistol on 21/03/2022 at about 1130hrs.
"The Command detectives acted on credible intelligence tracked down and apprehended Inusa Adamu aged 50yrs of Filin Banza village Balma ward Ningi LGA Bauchi State who was found in possession of a locally made pistol with five cartridges," the statement read.
The suspect Inusa Adamu has been making use of the said revolver pistol to terrorize the surrounding communities.
On interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime, meanwhile efforts has been intensified to track down his fleeing accomplices, after which the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
Also, on 18/03/2022 at about 0630hrs detectives of the command while visiting scene of accident at Yalwan Bridge Ganjuwa Local Government, intercepted and arrested one Abdullahi Sani Muhammad aged 35yrs of Karofin Madaki Bauchi metropolis.
However, preliminary investigation reveals that one locally made pistol was recovered in possession of Abdullahi Sani Mohammed.
During interrogation, the suspect couldn’t give satisfactory account of the locally made pistol. Investigation is ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation, the statement added.
Also, on 23/03/2022 at about 0600hrs, the Detectives of the Command acting on credible information arrested one Idris Musa aged 22yrs of unguwan ABK Alkaleri L G A of Bauchi State and one Muntaka Abdullahi 20yrs of Unguwar Ajiya Alkaleri LGA, the suspects had on the 22/03/2022 at about 1300hrs, conspired among themselves and stole one motorcycle Haojue brand with registration number ALK 836 WC Bauchi, Black and red in colour.
During Interrogation, the suspect confessed to belong to a syndicate who specialize in snatching motorcycle. Exhibit recovered from the suspects include; one Red Bajaj Motorcycle, one Black and Red Haojue motorcycle. The Suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
On the 18/03/2022 at about 1440hrs one Abdullahi Ahmadu 70yrs of Ligada Jula village Giade LGA, Bauchi State reported that on the 16/03/2022 at about 1700hrs one Musa Saleh 20yrs of same address lured the victim by name Hajiya (not real name) and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
However, preliminary investigation reveals that the victim stated that the suspect wrestled with her and started removing her skirt in that process he tore her cloths and over powered her.
During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the commission of crime. Investigation is ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
The following items were recovered in connections to the cases; one locally made pistol with five cartridges, one locally made pistol, one Red Bajaj Motorcycle, one Black and Red Haojue motorcycle.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Umar Mamman Sanda, has assured the good people of the state his endless and tireless commitment towards security of lives and properties in the state.
He urged citizens to continue being vigilant and security conscious, he also re-iterate that there will be no hiding place for criminals in the state as the Command stands ever ready to flush out all forms of criminality bothering our domain.
