It was gathered that the victim identified as Mallam Muhammad Danladi Ibrahim died on Thursday, April 21 in the fatal accident that happened in Minna, the Niger state capital.
Chairman and Secretary of the Niger State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Niger State Council, Yakubu Mustapha and Daniel Atori, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday April 22, in Minna.
"With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we received with shock the sudden death of a dedicated, hardworking and gentle colleague," the statement read.
"Until his death, Mallam Muhammad Danladi Abubakar was Niger State Correspondent of the African Independent Television (AIT)
The statement described the deceased as a dedicated and pious Muslim who stood for what he believed in.
"We will surely miss him, especially his commitment to the union activities in the state, for being passionate about the growth and development of our dear profession in all ramifications.”
“May his gentle soul rest in peace and may God grant his family and the media world the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
The journalist was laid to rest on Friday morning in accordance with the Islamic rites of passage at the Muslims Burial Ground along Dutdhen Kura road- Kure Market – Kpankungu community after the Janais prayers were said at Mypa Schools junction, Dutsen Kura Gwari, Minna.
