Husband Cheating with Family Member Sets Wife Ablaze to Cover-up (Photo+Video)

 

An irresponsible man has set his 27-year old wife ablaze to cover up his tracks after she found out he was cheating on her.

 

The woman who is now nursing burn wounds sustained after the attack said trouble started when she discovered he was cheating on him through a text message, reports News24.

 

According to the woman named Dorcas Awinja, she said her husband Paul Alubale set her on fire after the discovery and wanted her to burn to death.

 

“His mobile phone rang twice but he did not want to answer even after I asked him to. Then a text message came and since he was drunk, I went to read,” she narrates, revealing that he was cheating with her brother’s wife.

 

She said they quarreled for a while, after which he went to sleep but when she joined him in bed, he doused paraffin on her and then lit a matchstick.

 

Neighbours who responded to her distress call forced the husband to take her to hospital.

 

While at Coptic Hospital in Luanda, Daily Nation reports that Alubale excused himself under the pretext that he was going to look for money only to call Awinja's father saying that she had attempted suicide.

 

He has since gone missing.

 

The incident, which took place in Vihiga County, Kenya in September 2015 left Awinja with over 63% burns on the neck, arms, breast, thorax, abdomen, back and legs. Police are still investigating the matter. However, a video by K24 reveals that Awinja is recuperating well at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital Nakuru where she was transferred.
