The Department of State Services has released four men it arrested in 2022 over alleged links to the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
It has also approved ₦20 million in compensation for them.
The men are Emele Uduma Ibe, Berefgagha Appah, Ondokeyilemi Aggry and Oyeinmokebebeton Aggry.
They were arrested in May 2022 in the Sampou and Akeddei communities in Bayelsa State.
Security sources say investigations showed the four were tricked.
They were told they would get ₦100,000 every month under the Federal Government's Amnesty Programme.
Instead, they were allegedly recruited by IPOB members who are now on trial.
After they were cleared, the DSS Director-General, Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, approved ₦5 million for each man.
The Service will also give them medical and psychological care.
Their lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, thanked the DSS leadership for respecting human rights while protecting national security.
Ibe said the day was the happiest of his life.
He said the ordeal taught him a lesson he plans to share with others.
