He called on the government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to as a matter of urgency reverse the policy before the divine hammer would fall on them.
The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu (AMEN), Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka has issued a warning to President Muhammadu Buhari over his government's refusal to obey Supreme Court order on new naira policy.
He said refusal to reverse the policy will make the people to turn against his government.
Speaking during a Sunday service at Adoration ground, Umuchigbo, Enene in Enugu State, Father Mbaka said the money swap policy is barbaric and Nigeria is not ready for a cashless society.
He called on the government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to as a matter of urgency reverse the policy before the divine hammer would fall on them.
According to him, if the situation is still the same till after the 2023 general elections, Nigerians may rise against the government and that may lead to chaos in the country.
“What Nigerians are passing through to access their money in the bank is not funny. I advise the Nigerian government to reverse the policy before it reverses them. If they fail to reverse it, Nigerians will see the effect of the policy after the election and they will not take it easy with the federal government.
“I don’t know who advised President Buhari on the naira policy. Can’t he say no to the advice? Why must he choose to suffer Nigerians at his last hour? You chose to go with bad name. Reverse it before the divine hammer fall on you.
“People will spend N3,000 on transport to get their money from bank and at the end of your 8-hour stay, the bank will give you N2,000. You will suffer to get money and after paying it to the bank, you will suffer more to get it for your use. What kind of country are we? Nigeria is not mature for cashless policy,” he lamented.
