Speaking at the Command headquarters, he disclosed that the suspect concealed the Indian hemp in the booth of a Toyota Camry, weighing 228kg and worth multi-million naira.

He said, “We have been on his trail for a very long time and at a time, we also suspected that he was very suspicious and almost about to get wind he was being trailed, so we lay low.

“We used a lot of techniques so that our identity will be concealed, and at the end of the day, on the 29th of March, he was nabbed at a place called Quarter Guard Area of in Akure, Ondo State here.”

He revealed that the suspect was nabbed with “compressed cannabis, carefully stacked in the booth of the car, about 309 pieces of compressed cannabis, which weighs about 228kg, which is a huge number.”

The NDLEA boss insisted that dealing and cultivating cannabis was not good for anybody, noting that, “It is evil and we should all steer clear of it. So, it is either you get out of the state or you get out of the business.”
