A deadly cultist, Qudus Sodimu (a.k.a. Bababu) and one Oluwaseun Adebowale have been arrested the Ogun State Police operatives.
They were arrested for cultism.
The suspects were paraded with others of various crimes by the new Commissioner of Police, CP Olarenwaju Yomi Oladimeji on Wednesday at the State Command at Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Olarenwaju, while addressing the media revealed that the suspects were arrested following information received that some members of the dreaded Aiye Confraternity had assembled themselves at the Elega area of Abeokuta in preparation for a supremacy battle with another group.
The Commissioner hinted that the cult group engaged the police in a gun-battle which left two of the cultists injured while others took to their heels.
Also, four armed robbery syndicates terrorizing Sango Ota and its environs were paraded.
The suspects Sheriff Kamoru 28; Rabiu Seyidu 37; Opeyemi Adebayo 26 and Ajibola Fakolade 21, were said to have robbed one Adeleye Sunday on the 20th of March 2023, and macheted his neck at Joju, collected his two phones and subsequently withdrew N600,000 from his account through his bank’s App on his phone.
Other suspects paraded are Adebiyi Adeyemi and Osisemowo Ayobami who are also cultists of the same Eiye Confraternity from Stan/Idiroko; Muyiwa Juwon Adebola and Lukman Olumuyiwa.
Recovered from them are Two locally made double barrel guns, five native knives, five expended cartridges, a battle axe, two locally made shotguns and four live cartridges.
