World-famous music icon, Craig David has made a fresh revelation about his personal life.
The famous musician says he is done with short term relationships after suffering from many traumas.
To get himself back inline, the singer-songwriter revealed he is refraining from s*xual relationships.
He believes that will help him get to a healthy place in time for his next relationship.
Talking to Louis Theroux on his Podcast, he said he was hoping to stop himself from making similar mistakes in the future.
The 42-year-old said: “I realised that me not having healed my own issues meant I was never in a position to be open to someone else.
“So I realised I had to pull back from all of this and this has been the past couple of years really.
“Which does mean not outwardly going on dates, the s*xual interactions are going to have to stop now, just cut that off.”
When Louis asked him if this meant he wasn’t having s*x, Craig answered: “For quite a while now. Maybe a year or so.”
He continued: “I’ve realised that the energetic exchange between two people is so powerful that unless the two of you are on such a level, you don’t need saving here, you don’t need to heal me and I don’t need to heal you, and we’re both meeting people at a good and healthy place, that’s the start of a relationship.
“I need a real relationship now, this is not about looking beautiful, this is not about the aesthetics.”
The star went on to say that he is hoping to find a partner that he can “great deep conversations” with.
He also said he wants to be able to “laugh like crazy” and also enjoy “amazing s*x”.
The singer rose to fame in 1999 after featuring on the single “Re-Rewind” by Artful Dodger.
David’s debut studio album, Born to Do It, was released in 2000, and he has since released a further five studio albums.
