KICC’s Fasheru Speaks On Pastor Ashimolowo’s Alleged Retirement

Posted by Thandiubani on Wed 16th Aug, 2023 - tori.ng

In a statement on Tuesday, Fasheru spoke about the 71-year-old Ashimolowo.

Pastor Femi Fasheru has reacted to reports that senior pastor of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Matthew Ashimolowo, has quit preaching.

Fasheru, the National Superintendent and Resident Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) debunked the news, saying there is no truth in it.

In a statement on Tuesday, he said the 71-year-old Ashimolowo still preaches between three and four times every week all over the world.

He added that the man of God ministers daily on ‘Morning Glow’ to people in over 50 countries.

Fasheru added that Ashimolowo is taking on fresh challenges and has only just established another independent ministry. He said the pastor does nine services weekly, including Sunday services.

“Ashimolowo’s telecast, Winning Ways, can be viewed all over Africa and Europe. His wife, Yemisi, and one of his sons, Pastor Tobi, are also working as ministers in the KICC.

“There is no iota of truth in the insinuation that Ashimolowo may have quit preaching the gospel to concentrate on real estate business,” the statement reads in part.

Fasheru added that Ashimolowo recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 33-hectare estate in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos, which may have prompted some reporters to spread the narrative.

“This project may be what mischief makers have taken out of context without cross-checking available information. This type of journalism skirts the border of decency and injures the reputation of the victim while courting libel for the publisher. To be sure, Ashimolowo remains a proud soldier of Christ, preaching His gospel with renewed enthusiasm as he has done for close to 50 years,” he concluded.
