The Nkerefi Development Association has praised Enugu Governor Peter Mbah for naming three of its indigenes as Special Assistants.
They are Jude Egbonwonu on Infrastructure Monitoring and Maintenance, Ifeanyi Onuora on National Orientation, and Peter Nwaekemezie on Market Orientation.
In a statement signed by its President General, Chukwudi Okeke, the association said the appointments make the community feel seen and valued.
It described them as a sign of inclusive governance.
The group also pointed to other Nkerefi sons in government.
They include Prof. G.O.C. Ajah, chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, and Hon. Chimaobi Okorie, Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development.
Diamond Ani heads the Community Service Development Agency, and Josh Ejeh is Special Assistant on Research and Publication.
The association also noted that Mike Ogbuekwe became the first Nkerefi indigene to win the Nkanu East local government chairmanship.
The association urged the new appointees to work with integrity and loyalty, and asked residents to support them.
It also thanked the governor for including Nkerefi indigenes on the Nkanu South Development Centre and pledged the community's continued support for his administration.
