The Ekiti Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused governor Ayodele Fayose of awarding N720millon to himself as salary arrears of his unfinished first term.
The Publicity Secretary of the Ekiti APC chapter, Taiwo Olatubosun, who stated that Fayose had not paid last September salary and is still owing pensioners months of arrears described the governor's conduct as 'selfish and callous for a man who claims to be a friend of the masses'.

The statement reads: “Though he admitted he owes only May salary as if he has any excuse to owe workers, as we write, over 10,000 Ekiti workers are yet to receive April salary. This is because not all workers he claimed to have paid have actually received their salaries.
“What he has been doing is to pay 10 out of 300 workers in a ministry and then go to town with his propagandists. We are asking Fayose once again what he is doing with all the monies he saved from the empowerment programmes he cancelled."
However, the Governor Fayose has refuted the allegation that he awarded himself N720 million as allowances from his unfinished first term.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose said the allegation are ridiculous and illogical.
