Deyemi Okanlawon, the Nigerian actor and producer, has narrated the mixed feelings and process of producing his latest movie ‘All’s Fair in Love’.
As a seasoned actor turned producer, Okanlawon delved into the challenges and triumphs of bringing his new movie to the big screen.
In an interview with Hip TV, he explained that, despite being in the film industry for 11 years, taking on the job of a producer allowed him to see a different side of himself and have a better understanding of the industry.
Deyemi Okanlawon said: “It felt like labour, I thought I understood the film industry until I started producing… my eyes saw Shege Promax Ultra, It shock me, it stretched me… But I will do it over again, it was the most exhilarating experience of my life. I found new skills and new creative muscle that I had no idea I had.”
He also revealed that the church was his first encounter with acting, which finally led to his first engagement.
“I had no plans to go into professional acting, it was just ministry.. random conversation with someone led to, oh there is an audition somewhere and I went and I got two roles from two different projects from one audition… and my next project came after that.”
