Okuoma Killings

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has reaffirmed its dedication to apprehending the perpetrators responsible for the killing of 17 security operatives stationed on national assignment at Okuoma, Ugheli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking on Tuesday on Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’, the spokesman of the NPF, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that meetings were ongoing “to handpick all the culprits.”

He said: “From the security circle, we are carrying out certain analyses.

“As we speak, meetings are ongoing with senior officers and even with the National Security Adviser, NSA, on this issue.

“Not only in Niger Delta, we have pockets of issues across all the zones in the country. And it is our responsibility to have a peaceful Nigeria.

“But in this particular Delta, you can see we have recorded three to four incidents in Delta State.

Everybody is bothered: the Delta state governor, the traditional rulers, and the indigenes of Delta.

“Many of them are working with us to get these assailants. But I want to assure you that they are not hibernating in any corner of Delta State. They must have fled because we have taken the battle to them.

“We are going to pick all of them one after the other without picking innocent people. The era of picking suspects is gone.

“We have our direct targets, and we are going for our targets. The onus is on us to pick all of them.”
