Members of a kidnapping gang who murdered a victim after receiving a N3 million ransom have been apprehended by the Jigawa State Police Command.
Spokesman of the Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the development on Thursday.
Adam disclosed that the 56-year-old gang leader, Adamu Bello, who has been at large, was arrested at Maimari village, Yobe State in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, abduction and culpable homicide of one Abdullahi Adamu, of Musari village, Guri LGA.
He explained that the incident occurred on 24/06/2023 at about 0120hrs, when a gang of yet to be identified persons, numbering about twelve, in possession of guns and some dangerous weapons, invaded Adamu’s house and abducted him.
The Police spokesman said on receipt of the report, detectives from State Intelligence Department Dutse (SID) swung into action for discreet investigation, leading to the arrest of four suspects.
The suspects include Buba A. Abdul, Bello Mallam, Adamu Dahiru and Mamman Bille.
On interrogation, the suspects confessed to have conspired with the said Adamu Bello in committing the offence.
They equally admitted that after collecting a ransom of N3 million, they killed the victim.
