Shamaki, the Chief Servant of the Emir of Zamfara, has appealed to both the monarch and the Nigerian government to intervene and secure his release from his captors.
He made the appeal in a video making the rounds on social media where he spoke in Hausa language.
Shamaki, who said he is in the terrorists’ custody with over 600 others, appealed to the Emir of Zamfara and the government authorities to have compassion on them and rescue them from captivity.
He said, “I'm your "Shamaki" (Chief Servant), pleading with you, Emir of Zamfara in the name of God; kindly help rescue over 600 of us in bandits' captivity.
“Please have compassion on us, do the needful (meet bandits' demands) and get us out of this jungle.”
SaharaReporters contacted the Zamfara State Police Command for reaction but calls to the Command’s spokesperson, Yazid Abubakar, did not go through.
