Sani said the suspension of the strike will make room for continued negotiations.
Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has broken his silence after the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC suspended its nationwide strike.
According to Sani, the suspension of the strike will make room for continued negotiations.
“The suspension of the strike to make room for continued negotiations is ok. Half agbado is better than none,” the former lawmaker wrote on X.
Recall that the Labour Union said the suspension was to give room for uninterrupted meetings with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.
This followed a meeting between the union and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, and other government officials on Monday.
The SGF at the meeting maintained that President Bola Tinubu was committed to a new minimum wage higher than N60,000.
