Woman Burns Her Step-grandson's Lips With Hot Knife In Taraba

According to reports, Chinecherim Julius was brutally assaulted by his grandfather's wife before she burnt his lips, leaving him with severe injuries.

A woman who was accused of burning her step-grandson's lip with a hot knife in Taraba State, has been arrested.
 
The incident happened in Wukari Local Government Area of the state.
 
According to reports, Chinecherim Julius was brutally assaulted by his grandfather's wife before she burnt his lips, leaving him with severe injuries.
 
Senior Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of Wukari LGA, Ibrahim Audu Angyu, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
 
“The heinous act of Chinecherim Julius' grandfather wife, cutting off his two lips with a hot knife, is a gruesome and inexcusable act of violence that should be condemned in the strongest possible terms. It is beyond comprehension how a person can harm a child in such a brutal manner,” the statement read.
     
"We applaud the decisive action taken by the executive chairman of Wukari Local Government Council, Hon Dauda Agbu Samaila in ordering for the arrest of Chinecherim Julius' grandfather wife.
     
"This shows that no one is above the law, and justice must prevail no matter the circumstances. The chairman's intervention in ensuring that Chinecherim Julius received medical care and that the perpetrator (grandfather wife)was brought to justice is commendable and sets a strong example for others in positions of authority.
     
“The safety and well-being of children should be a top priority for all members of society, and it is our collective responsibility to protect them from harm. Acts of violence against children, such as what happened to chinecherim Julius, cannot be tolerated or brushed aside. We must all work together to create a safe and loving environment for all children to thrive and grow.”
