Boypee Denies Taking Down ‘Ogechi Remix’ Video Because of ‘Davido’s Greed’

 

Rising Nigerian singer, Boypee has reacted to reports that he and his collaborators, Brown Joel and Hyce, took down the video of the remix of their hit song ‘Ogechi’ with Davido.

 

He and others had been accused of claiming to have taken down the video because of the DMW boss’ greed.

 

Recall that the official video of ‘Ogechi Remix, which was the wedding song of afrobeats superstar Davido and his wife, Chioma, was recently removed from YouTube over copyright issues.

 

Following the removal of the video which was uploaded on Davido’s record label, DMW YouTube page, an X user with the handle @Johnnyescoba posted a report credited to Boypee, one of the owners of the version that Davido was featured in, claiming that the video was removed because the DMW boss wanted to take all the royalties from the views.

 

The user wrote, “‘We had to take down the Ogechi Remix video cuz Davido wanted to take all the royalties.’

 

Quoting the post, Boypee debunked the claims, saying; “You and who talk that one ? To what profit eh guy? Wetin you wan use my downfall do?”
