Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko has said his party is rebranding to offer very responsible and constructive opposition.
Mimiko, who is also the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum (PDPGF) stated this on Tuesday, June 23, in Abuja after a meeting of PDP governors in Abuja.
He said, "We are doing some re-organisation, re-branding and re-positioning, essentially, that is what we are doing now. We are putting ourselves together to offer very responsible and constructive opposition.”
Mimiko’s declaration came after governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, disclosed that the election of Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State as chairman was ratified by all the 12 governors present.
The governors had met to consolidate their position ahead of today’s meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
The meeting started at about 8:20pm and ended at about 11:18pm.
The governors present at the meeting were Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Darius Isiaku (Taraba), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), John Jonah (Bayelsa), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ayo Fayose (Ekiti), Idris Wada (Kogi), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Udo Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Dave Umahia (Ebonyi) and Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe).
