Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arrived in Kaduna State today to participate in the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration.

The event underscores the pivotal role of the Nigerian Army in national security and pays tribute to its personnel's dedication and sacrifices.

His arrival was made known via videos shared on X by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, on Sunday, July 6.

Shettima was received by a high-profile delegation that included Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, and the Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede. 

Other senior government and security officials were also present to receive the Vice President.

Disclosing Shettima's arrival in Kaduna, Nkwocha wrote on X: "Vice President Kashim Shettima #officialSKSM, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu #officialABAT, has arrived in Kaduna State for the Nigerian Army #HQNigerianArmy Day Celebration 2025.

"The Vice President was received by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani #ubasanius, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyede, and other senior government and security officials upon his arrival.

"The choice of Kaduna State to host this year's celebration highlights its strategic significance to the Nigerian military. The state is home to key military institutions including the Nigerian Defence Academy and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, which have long played a central role in developing the leadership of Nigeria's Armed Forces.

"The Nigerian Army Day Celebration is an annual event that honours the service and sacrifice of the Nigerian Army while showcasing the institution's capabilities and commitment to national security."
