The couple, who have a young daughter, featured her in their family skit videos to help people get to know her.
Content creator and actor Victor Nwaogu aka Nkubi and his wife have revealed how they handle online bullying and trolling from social media users.
The couple have been featuring their daughter on their family video skits, leading to bullying from trolls.
In an interview with BBC News Pidgin, Nkubi and his wife shared their experiences with online bullying.
They revealed that they faced criticism in person when they first started dating, but the online harassment has been far more intense.
To protect her mental health, Nkubi’s wife said she avoids reading comments, acknowledging the damaging impact of social media.
The couple, despite the negativity, views their daughter as a blessing to their family and gives her a bright future and makes her people, while shielding her from the harsh aspects of social media.
Nkubi’s wife also mentioned their plans to have at least one more child, emphasising their commitment to building a happy family life amidst the online scrutiny.
“We wan give our pikin a bright future, we want to make people know her, I don’t want the situation to catch her unaware. Social media amplifies both judgment and hatred. The bullying has been ongoing since we started dating. Some people would taunt us when they see us together, but online bullying is much. To protect my mental health, I avoid the comment section. She is a blessing to the family; she turned our family around,” Nkubi and his wife said.
