The lawmakers begged President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the country’s economic hardship.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, caucus in the House of Representatives has lamented the poverty and hardship in the country.
The lawmakers begged President Bola Tinubu to come to the rescue of Nigerians because they are committing suicide over hunger.
The caucus leader, Fred Agbedi, made the lamentation at a press conference, urging President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the country’s economic hardship.
He also frowned at the killings in the country, accusing President Tinubu of being busy embarking on foreign trips instead of visiting bereaved families.
Agbedi charged the Federal Government to provide safety for Nigerians, especially troubled zones of Imo, Katsina, Plateau, Benue, Zamfara, and Borno.
“There’s a lot of hardship in this country, and Nigerians are groaning in pain daily. People are committing suicide because the government is not paying attention to them.
“Nigerians are groaning, Mr. President, ensure that you pay attention to the sufferings of Nigeria. We can imagine a situation where Nigerians are killed and Mr. President is far away in Brazil and other countries,” he said.
