A 30-year-old Nigerian man has reportedly taken his own life.
The incident happened in the Kagini community, located off the Kubwa-Dei-Dei expressway in Abuja.
The man's lifeless body was found hanging on Friday, September 5, 2025 in his home.
The deceased identified as IK Anago, 30, was said to operate a shop in the community and lived alone in an apartment in the Zone 4 area.
A police source who confirmed the incident to daily trust on Sunday, September 7, said that the incident was only discovered after some concerned residents checked on his home that day. He had not shown up at his shop, and all phone calls to him went unanswered.
“The matter was then reported to the Kagini police outpost around 1 pm that day, and police immediately rushed to the victim’s home where he was found dangling from the roof of his sitting room,” the source said.
The source further stated that items including the deceased’s mobile phone, a small pestle, a knife, and a drum were found in the room.
The FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident in a post shared late Saturday.
She disclosed that police from the Dei-Dei division had moved the body to the morgue of the Kubwa General Hospital after a medical doctor on duty confirmed the man’s d3ath.
She explained that the FCT police commissioner has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation, including an autopsy, to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
