The announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen.

President Bola Tinubu has given approval for the appointment of five executive directors to the board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

This was made public on Tuesday in a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen.

The new appointees are Biliquis Sanni (Administration & Human Resources), Aisha Ibrahim (Commercial and Industrial Development), James Uloko (Corporate Services), Muhammad Bashar (Finance), and Atika Ajanah (Projects).

“The directors will assist the commission in actualising its statutory mandate,” the statement read.

Tinubu tasked the directors to work closely with the NCDC’s governing board in “promoting and coordinating the sustainable development” of the North-Central geopolitical zone.

The NCDC was established in February 2025 after Tinubu signed the North Central Development Commission Bill into law.

The commission is mandated to drive infrastructure development, address ecological challenges, and promote economic growth across the North-Central region, which has faced insecurity, flooding, and other setbacks.

The commission’s jurisdiction spans Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
