After a long hiatus, Janet Jackson made an appearance at the BET Awards last night where she clinched the Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award.
Coming on the heels of her pleasantly shocking announcement of a new album presumably titled 'Conversations in a Cafe' and a world tour, fans of Janet Jackson, were treated to snippets of a lot of her upcoming hit songs at last night's BET Awards.
The 49-year-old singer/dancer, who was called to the stage to receive the 'Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award' looked simple, yet elegant as she collected the award. Might we also add that she didn't give any performance.

An elated Jackson in her tribute, expressed many thanks to God, her fans, family (her parents were in attendance), her record label family and her billionaire husband, Wissam Al Mana, who was present too.
"It's been a very long journey to this moment", she started. "My heart is so full. Thank you, God, for making everything possible. I'm so grateful for the support you've always given me, to my beautiful mother and beautiful father, and to my entire family. Your love is unbreakable. Many thanks to Jimmy and Terry for our incredible history and to everyone who performed in the tribute tonight. Twenty five years ago, we created Rhythm Nation hoping the world would be a better place, but today there is even more to be done. Last but not least to my loving husband and to all the fans, I've missed you so much and I love you so much. Thank you! Thank you, BET", Janet Jackson concluded.
