Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has revealed that he has sometimes felt like quitting football following the loss of both his parents.
Nwabali revealed this while speaking with ACL Sports.
The Chippa United stopper lost his mother only two months after his father passed away.
“My mom died around two o’clock today,” he said.
“So, on how I try to keep a lot of things to myself, try to move on, try to be a stronger guy I was.”
Nwabali also said the pain of his grief almost pushed him to leave the sport.
He added: “Most times I feel like quitting, you know? I feel like quitting because, yeah, you know, mom and dad, but my mom is so dear to me.
“Really, it’s so painful, man. It’s really so painful to be talking about my mom today, bro.”
