AFCON: Thank God APC Can't Add Super Eagles Game To Their List Of Achievements – Speed Darlington Rejoices

Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has sparked reactions online after appearing pleased over the Super Eagles’ failure to win this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), judging by his comments on social media.

The Super Eagles did not make it to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

They will have to play in the third-place game after losing 4-2 to the host country, Morocco, in the semifinals.

The match finished with a 0-0 tie after regular time and extra time, which led to a penalty shootout where the North African team won.

Nigeria wanted to win their fourth Africa Cup of Nations trophy, but their hopes ended when Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyeamachi missed their penalty kicks.

Expressing what appears to be satisfaction with the outcome, Speed Darlington wrote on X, “Thank God APC can’t add AFCON to their list of achievements to hide their years of failure. AFCON bye bye.”

The Super Eagles are now going to play in the third-place match against Egypt to try and win the bronze medal.
