Security forces have successfully neutralized Amadu, a notorious kidnapping kingpin, in a military operation conducted in Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Details of the operation were made public in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
The post disclosed that the raid was carried out in Malafiya town, Atiku Ward, after troops received credible intelligence about the location of the criminal group’s hideout.
Amadu was identified as the head of a gang involved in kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed robbery across Malafiya and nearby communities.
He was also listed among the most wanted suspects by security agencies.
According to the report, troops launched the operation on Sunday with the aim of arresting members of the gang. However, the mission led to a gun battle between the troops and the suspects.
“During the exchange of fire, Amadu tried to flee and was neutralised,” the post stated.
After the operation, a locally fabricated pistol was recovered from the scene.
The update added that calm has since returned to the area, while security personnel have intensified patrols to prevent criminals from regrouping or carrying out further attacks.
