Lionel Richie Hospitalized Again After Heart Trouble

American singer Lionel Richie has been admitted to the hospital again.

Doctors found that he has an irregular heartbeat, which is a condition where the heart does not beat in a normal rhythm.

Because of this heart problem, Lionel Richie and the band Earth, Wind and Fire had to cancel three shows they were supposed to do.

The shows were planned for September 26 in San Francisco, September 30 in Chicago and October 2 in Columbus, Ohio.

Richie had a procedure to try to fix his irregular heartbeat.

The procedure was successful and he is now resting before he can go back to performing.

This is the third time in recent months that Richie has been hospitalized.

Less than a month ago, in August, he was admitted to a hospital in St. Louis after performing a concert on August 29.

He stayed in the hospital for three days and was sent home on September 2

At that time, doctors found that he was having problems with his heart after he appeared sick during the end of his concert.

The 77-year-old singer also had a health problem in June during a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He told the crowd he was feeling dizzy and said, "when you are feeling dizzy, sit your ass down."

He canceled two shows after that and went back to performing on June 30 in Pittsburgh.
