Troops Arrest 4 Suspected Boko Haram Members in Yobe Night Attack

Troops of the Joint Task Force in the North East have arrested four suspected Boko Haram t3rrorists following a night ambush in Gujba local government area of Yobe State.

The arrests came during operations between September 15 and 22, 2026, when 11 t3rrorists also surrendered and nine suspected drug dealers were caught.

The military said troops of 27 Task Force Brigade working with the Civilian Joint Task Force set up an ambush east of Azare Village in Gujba LGA at about 11pm on September 21.

The troops met suspected t3rrorists and opened fire, forcing some to run away.

Four suspected t3rrorists were arrested as troops searched the area.

Blood marks around the site suggested some of the fleeing t3rrorists may have been w0unded in the gunfight.

Items found at the scene included four bicycles, a large quantity of food supplies, one sheep and spent 7.62mm ammunition cases.

The suspects and recovered goods are now in military custody for investigation while troops continue searching the area.

In another operation, troops arrested nine suspected drug dealers during a patrol in Buni Yadi, also in Gujba LGA, on September 19.

The suspects had a large amount of suspected illegal drugs and c@nnabis, two phones and 85,900 naira cash.

The military said the operation aimed to disrupt criminal activities that could help t3rrorists and violent crime.

The suspects and items have been handed to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation and possible court action.

During the full period, the military also recorded the surrender of 11 t3rrorists and recovered a vehicle, ammunition and other supplies.

The military said these results show the pressure being put on t3rrorist groups and those supporting them across the North-East and that Operation HADIN KAI will keep working to break up t3rrorist and criminal networks and stop them from moving freely.
