The Taraba State Police Command has stated that it will protect lives and property of its people and make sure criminals have no hiding place in the state.
The commissioner of Police Edwin Ogbeghagha made the promise on Monday while handing over refurbished vehicles to the Violent Crime Response Unit.
He asked the unit's officer in charge, Ayuba Yohanna, and his team to use the vehicles well.
The aim is to help officers move faster and respond quickly to violent crime and other threats.
He also told them to stay professional and respect people's rights.
The commissioner said good policing needs both commitment and proper equipment.
He promised the command will keep looking for ways to improve its capacity.
He also asked residents to share reliable information with the police, and said such information will be kept confidential.
