Holy Suicide: 70-Year-Old Woman Slashes Her Throat Leaving a Message Saying 'God Told Her To'

A 70-year old woman, Saratu Rahman, aka Iya Ogbomoso, from Offa, in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, who used a razor blade to cut her throat, made a confession on tape prior to the incident insisting that 'God' asked her to.

 

In the tape recording, Rahman stated, “I used a razor blade to cut my throat because God told me to do so. Please allow me to die; I don’t want to live in this world again.”

 

The mother of four was said to have killed herself at her residence. A neighbour of the Rahmans, said when she and other neighbours heard the woman's screams, they rushed to her room and saw her in a pool of blood.

 

“When we got into the room, we saw Mama in a pool of blood. We invited the police. She was rushed to the Lamode Hospital. The policemen later found the blade that Mama used to cut herself”, the neighbour said.

 

She was rushed to a hospital where she was treated for two days before she eventually gave up the ghost.
