Following the confirmation of the death of Oba Johnson Fatoba of Ikorodu, a traditional curfew which will last for 7 days has been declared. The residents of Ikorodu are in deep panic as the curfew could be likely hijacked by miscreants.
The death of Oba Johnson Fatola of Ikorodu was announced around 6pm on Monday, June 29, 2015. This prompted residents and visitors in Igbogbo, Ikorodu to watch their heads for safety due to the traditional late night curfew accrued to the burial rites of Monarchs.
The curfew in line with traditional culture is usually observed for a week. A traditional night gathering known as 'Oro' bans males and females from being seen outside at a certain hour and failure to observe the curfew often attracts deadly consequences.
According to Vanguard, Residents have sent warning messages to visitors and friends to prevent them from walking into street urchins who conventional seize such opportunities to cause mayhem.
All commercial activities came to a halt as early as 7pm, all movements seized and commercial drivers have allegedly redirected their route to avoid an attack on their vehicles.
