Judy Malinowski was burnt badly

A woman who was in an abusive relationship has opened up how her 'evil' boyfriend set her on fire after pouring petrol on her causing her to suffer 80% burns.

Judy Malinowski, 33, who spent 16 months in hospital after her abusive ex set her alight in August 2015 has advised people in abusive relationship to 'Get help. Run.'

Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the abusive boyfriend, Malinowski said: ‘I never knew that a human being could be so evil. He just stood there and did nothing.’

She decided to speak openly about the attack, which she describes as ‘pure evil’. Malinowski, who previously survived ovarian cancer, lost two of her fingers, her ears and a lot of her hair in the horrific attack, which occurred at a Gahanna gas station, reports ABC.

She’s had to endure 52 surgeries and now talks in a whisper due to damage to her trachea.

After 16 months, Ms Malinowski remains in the intensive care unit with massive open wounds on her back and buttocks. She cannot lay on her stomach and allow them to heal due to breathing problems.

The boyfriend identified as Michael Slager, 41, pleaded no contest to aggravated arson and was jailed for 11 years for his cruel attack on the mum-of-two from Ohio.

He originally maintained he set her on fire by accident while lighting a cigarette. Ms Malinsowski spent months in hospital recovering and she was planning to testify against her callous ex, but his plea deal scuppered her opportunity to face him in court.

During sentencing, Judge Judy Lynch, who jailed Slager, said: ‘There’s nothing to say to a person like you, Mr Slager. You really do seem like one of those people who have no soul.’

‘I never knew that a human being could be so evil. He just stood there and did nothing.’

Speaking to other victims of domestic abuse from her hospital bed, Ms Malinsowski said: ‘Get help. Run.’
