Imran Usman Wakili, a social media influencer and supporter of former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly been arrested by police.
Sources say officers picked him up at his home in Karu, on the outskirts of Abuja, on October 29.
The arrest is said to be linked to posts he made online.
In them, he claimed the APC presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna on October 24 had a poor turnout.
He also questioned whether some photos shared by the party had been doctored.
According to sources, officers did not find him at home at first.
They arrested his younger brother and the estate manager instead. Both were later released, along with the car, after Wakili turned up.
Family members say they have not been able to find out where he is or secure his release.
Sources also claim he has been under surveillance and that the arrest is part of a wider crackdown on El-Rufai's supporters.
These claims have not been independently verified.
The Federal Capital Territory Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, did not respond to requests for comment.
