The Kano State Police Command said it had arrested 45 persons for violating the lockdown order in the state, Punch Metro reports.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Habu Sani, disclosed this while giving an update on the enforcement of lockdown imposed on the state.
He said 15 of the suspects who posed as Muslim clerics, were apprehended for conducting Friday Jumat prayers in violation of the state lockdown order, pointing out that they had been convicted.
The commissioner, who is the Chairman, Security Committee on COVID-19, said 30 other persons arrested for the same offence had been convicted.
“We are going to deploy community policing for enforcement to make the people realise the implications of what they are doing,” he added.
