Diabetic Boy Dies After False Healer Extorted His Parents Claiming He Can Cure Him

 

A 60-year-old self professed healer is in police net for deceiving the parents of a diabetic boy he claimed he can cure.

 

The fake healer had told the parents of the boy to stop giving him insulin after he claimed he could cure the diabetic boy with his powers. The incident happened in Tochigi Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo.

 

Shun Imai, a 7-year-old second grader at an elementary school who had type-1 diabetes, became increasingly debilitated and died at a Tochigi hospital on April 27.

 

The suspect identified as Hiroji Kondo is said to have repeatedly rubbed Shun’s body and chanted a spell as part of his “treatment” and received several million yen in fees, the police said.

 

“He won’t recover by insulin because he has the God of Death in his stomach,” Kondo was quoted as saying by the police.

 

The police are also questioning the parents on suspicion of negligence resulting in their son’s death.
