pick up parked at the police station
A man identified as Miguel Redshirt stole a pick-up car because he wanted to use it to pick up his girlfriend, Lavina Jackson from prison. He was arrested and charged for theft, says Arizona police. Jackson was in jail for assault after getting into a fight with her boyfriend.
Redshirt denied the allegations, saying that he borrowed the truck and intended returning it back after use. He was booked into jail after being charged with one count of theft.
Police investigation revealed that an officer who was equipped with a license plate reader, noticed the truck outside the Tempe Police Department on Monday and scanned the plate only to discover that the car was reported stolen from a hotel in Phoenix on Sunday night.
The truck was returned to its owner and Redshirt was placed behind bars.
