Detergent and pressing iron shared to empower youths
A member of the House of Representative representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, Zamfara State, Kabiru Amadu popularly referred to as Mai-Palace has distributed Detergent, Cloth Pegs, Local Pressing Iron As 2020 Empowerment Program, to members of his constituency.
The shocking photos have left social media users ranting.
In some photos that have since gone viral on the internet, the items were displayed at a distribution center in the constituency, ready for disbursement to the beneficiaries.
Social media users have blasted the politician, as they had expected more from him instead of sharing items as detergent and iron to empower his people, even with the millions allocated as constituency funds.
Many wondered what detergent and iron will do in helping his constituents overcome the crippling poverty level in the north and survive this pandemic.
Speaking at the ceremony in 2019, Mai-Palace said that the project was aimed at complementing the state government’s efforts at tackling unemployment and poverty, especially among women.
