#BayelsaDecides: Gov. Dickson Wins Sylva in Jonathan's LGA (Live Updates)

With the announcement of the result of Ogbia Local Government Area, the Independent National Electoral Commission is left with only two local government areas to announce.

The incumbent and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Seriake Dickson, has won another local government area in the ongoing counting of results in Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa State.

The Local Government Area, Ogbia, is where former President Goodluck Jonathan hails from. Dickson scored 13,051 votes, while his closest challenger and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Timipre Sylva, followed with 9,106 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Movement came a distant third with 86 votes. With the announcement of the result of Ogbia Local Government Area, the Independent National Electoral Commission is left with only two local government areas to declare. Bayelsa State has eight local government areas.

Out of the five announced earlier, Dickson won four, while Sylva won one.

The results are being announced by the Collation Officer, Dr. Evans Eze of the Federal University, Otuoke.
 
Below are the results for Ogbia LGA:
  • APC – 9,106
  • PDP – 13,051
  • PDM – 86
Total registered voters – 69,253

No of accredited voters – 24,532

No of rejected votes – 880

Total votes cast – 23,358.
 
Governor Dickson has so far leads with 94,980 votes against his opponent, Timipre Sylva’s 64,621 votes.
