A female shop assistant is being hailed for her heroics after she successfully dealt with a male robber who tried to steal money she made from her shop.

A shop assistant became instant hero after she successfully battled a thief and disarmed him. The woman who refused to hand over cash as requested by the robber, instead attacked him viciously hitting him on the head and taking his weapon.

the fight gets intense and violent

She punched the hell of the robber's face before he took to his heels. Although the thief managed to escape, police recognised him from the lengthy CCTV footage and arrested him just hours later.

Suspect Vitaly Sidorov is facing charges of stealing £230 from the store's till. Police say he has a string of previous convictions for theft and robbery. The incident took place in in Khanty-Mansiysk, a town in central Russia.
