Farmers harvesting
Nigerian soldiers have been spotted protecting farmers while they harvested their crops in Borno state.
A Facebook user, Bello Inua Anka on Friday, December 11, posted photos of Nigerian soldiers guarding and assisting the people of Zabarmari farming community in Jere Local Government Area of Borno while harvesting their farms produce at Koshebe village.
This is coming weeks after Boko Haram terrorists slaughtered over 43 Zabarmari rice farmers at Koshebe village in Mafa Local Government Area of the state while working in a rice field.
While many commended the military for their efforts, they, however said guarding farmers is not sustainable.
Another Facebook user Hadiza Suleiman wrote; "This is good but unlikely to be sustainable. The army needs to be proactive and not reactive.
"They need to take offensive action against the terrorists and not wait for them to attack. The US could rescue one of their citizens in Nigeria using intelligence that I hope is also available to our security age"
